Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between upfront, monthly, and at-maturity profit?+

Example on SAR 100,000 for 12 months at 5%: total profit is SAR 5,000. At maturity you receive 5,000 as a single payment at the end. Monthly you receive ~SAR 416 each month. Upfront you receive a slightly smaller amount on day one because the bank discounts for time value. Banks publish different rates for each option.

Why is the rate lower for earlier payouts?+

The earlier the bank pays you profit, the shorter it can reinvest your funds. It offsets that by offering a lower rate on monthly and upfront options compared with at-maturity.

How is Zakat information shown?+

Zakat treatment varies by product structure, the bank's disclosure, and the customer's situation. We display what the bank publishes as-is; this is not a fatwa or Zakat advice. Consult the bank or a qualified advisor as needed.

Do my funds pass through Nesbah?+

No. The deposit is opened directly with the bank and funds move from your account into the product inside the bank.

Is the service free?+

Yes — fully free for the customer.

I have SAR 5,000,000 or more — can I submit a request through Nesbah?+

Yes. For amounts of SAR 5,000,000 and above you can request special pricing from providers you choose through Nesbah. A provider may contact you if it decides to proceed, and each provider decides independently. For smaller amounts, compare here and open the deposit directly with the bank via its app.

What happens at maturity and on auto-renewal?+

At opening you choose: transfer principal and profit, reinvest only the principal, or reinvest both. Some banks auto-renew at the rate on the renewal day, which may differ from the original rate.

What happens on early withdrawal?+

Early-withdrawal terms differ between banks. Review the bank's early-withdrawal details before opening.

Where do the rates come from and how do we verify them?+

We rely on banks' published sources or direct confirmations. The most recent update date is shown at the top of the page.

Rates shown are as published or confirmed by the banks on the date next to each product and may change at any time. Calculator results are estimates based on the published rate; Wakala rates are expected, not guaranteed. Final approval and terms are set by the deposit provider. Nesbah is a licensed platform that facilitates deposit requests and does not receive customer funds.
